BROOKE SHIELDS AND JIM BELUSHI IN PLANE MISHAP: This sounds like a comedy skit, but it could have been serious. People magazine reports that Brooke Shields and Jim Belushi had just landed at Hearst Castle in a small plane when the pilot got out without putting on the parking brake. The plane rolled into a parked SUV. The SUV was damaged, but no one was injured. The two were at Hearst Castle, in San Simeon, California, for a private event.

MICHAEL VICK TO STAR IN BET DOCU-SERIES

Football player Michael Vick is set to star in a new eight-part docu-series tentatively titled The Michael Vick Project. The BET show will look at his controversial return to the Philadelphia Eagles after serving time for running a dogfighting ring. Vick hopes the show will help repair his public image. He told the LA Times, "I just want people to really get to know me as an individual."

MEL GIBSON HAS A CLEAN SLATE

A judge in Los Angeles has wiped Mel Gibson's record clean. The star of Mad Max and Lethal Weapon fame has successfully completed the terms of a three-year probation served after his arrest in Malibu on charges related to driving under the influence. The move to expunge the record of the arrest is routine in misdemeanor cases. Gibson's arrest in July 2006 earned him plenty of notoriety and late-night jokes. Police originally withheld the details, but within hours people were talking about Gibson's drunken tirade to cops, during which he blamed the Jews for all of the world's problems and made an off-color comment to a female officer.

RULING IN JON & KATE DIVORCE EXPECTED TODAY

A judge is expected to rule today (Wednesday, October 7th) on whether Jon Gosselin violated a court order in his divorce case by allegedly withdrawing $230,000 from his joint account with wife Kate. Meanwhile, TMZ.com cornered Jon at Los Angeles Airport. And, according to their reporter, "he straight up denied jacking the $230,000 Kate claims is missing from their joint account by saying, 'I never took any money.'" Kate claims he left her and their eight kids with $1,000 to pay the bills. The court decision will be the latest twist in the ugly saga, which you may remember started as a sweet TV show called Jon & Kate Plus 8.
