The Federal Aviation Administration on Tuesday revoked the licenses of the two Northwest Airlines pilots who overshot their Minneapolis destination by 150 miles.
The pilots — Timothy Cheney of Gig Harbor, Wash., the captain, and Richard Cole of Salem, Ore., the first officer — told safety investigators they were working on their personal laptop computers and lost track of time and place.

How far would you go for tickets to the World Series? A Philadelphia woman, according to police, was allegedly offering sex in exchanges for the coveted tickets.

Police in Bensalem say Susan Finkelstein, 43, solicited an undercover police officer to perform sex acts for World Series tickets. The undercover officer connected with Finkelstein after seeing her ad on Craigslist that read: "Desperate Blonde Needs WS Tix."

A jury convicted a Rhode Island man of murder Tuesday in the drowning of his wife during a 1999 scuba-diving trip in the British Virgin Islands.
Prosecutors accused Swain of killing his wife, Shelley Tyre, so he could pursue a romance with a Rhode Island chiropractor as well as gain his wife's inheritance estimated at $630,000 and save his now-shuttered dive shop.

Raw sewage contains disease pathogens and toxins, impairs the respiratory functions in water life, and causes algae blooms. And cruise ships are dumping it just off shore, possibly washing up on the beach near where your family is vacationing.
During a typical week, EPA says, a cruise ship with 3,000 passengers can generate 200,000 gallons of waste and sewage and 1 million gallons of gray water from showers and drains.
