Investigators searching for a 7-year-old Florida girl that disappeared while walking home from school said Wednesday that a child's body had been found in a landfill, and the girl's father said it was likely his daughter.

The partially covered body was found in a Georgia landfill near the Florida state line, after investigators followed garbage trucks leaving from the neighborhood where Somer Thompson disappeared Monday.


The parking garage planned for The Walk will include the first public bathrooms in the downtown retail complex.

Shoppers and store owners alike have complained about the constant traffic through the more than 80 businesses' bathrooms, which must be made publicly available under state law.

The plans include one men's room and one women's room, to be cleaned and maintained by CRDA-hired garage staff. Each will have five toilets, including one that is wheelchair accessible, and a diaper-changing station.


A private security guard at Newark Liberty International Airport has been arrested Wednesday on charges of threatening President Barack Obama.

John Breck allowed police to search his Linden home and officers found 43 firearms.

U.S. Secret Service spokes people say the 55-year-old denied making any threats.

Most pet owners would leap into action for an injured pet, even if it meant risking dog breath by going mouth-to-snout.

Fifty-eight percent of pet owners — 63 percent of dog owners and 53 percent of cat owners — would be at least somewhat likely to perform CPR on their pet in the event of a medical emergency, according to Petside.com poll.
