The woman accused of stalking pop singer Justin Timberlake also apparently had her sights on Metallica for a while. According to TMZ.com, the members of the band got a restraining order issued against Karen Jane McNeil last March. In the document filed by drummer Lars Ulrich at Los Angeles Superior Court, the band requested that McNeil stay at least 150 yards away from all four members, their families and the people who run the Metallica fan club.
Muse was named Best Act In The World at the Q Awards in London on Monday night (October 26th), beating out other heavy hitters like Coldplay, Kings of Leon and the now defunct Oasis for the prize. The band is currently riding a wave of acclaim and success with their fifth album, The Resistance, but bassist Chris Wolstenholme told us that the trio are careful not to let the success go to their heads: ["You know, we don't take anything for granted. We know that, I think, there's a certain expectation on this band with the quality of music that we make, and, you know, it's an expectation that we put on ourselves as well, 'cause we always want to better ourselves. And, you know, if you make an album and you don't feel like it's better than the album you've done before, then you should probably either pack it in or start again, you know."]
Rob Zombie recently pushed back the release of his fourth studio album, called Hellbilly Deluxe 2: Noble Jackals, Penny Dreadfuls and the Systematic Dehumanization of Cool, from November 17th to a yet-to-be-revealed date in early 2010. Zombie explained on a conference call with reporters on Tuesday (October 27th) why the album was held back: ["Basically the label wasn't ready to promote it or deal with it, because they were just like, 'Well, we just got the finished music, we haven't sent it anywhere, we haven't got...' you know. It was just the basic structure of releasing a record, everything from getting the advance copies to press to having time -- I mean, there wasn't even time to make a video. I mean, we were like done and leaving for tour. It wasn't one gigantic thing, it sort of just seemed like every little thing about the record was rushed."]
