Rock News

Dead By Sunrise, the new band fronted by Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington, releases its debut album on Tuesday (October 13th). Titled Out Of Ashes, the disc is Bennington's first project outside of Linkin Park. He told us that fans should expect a range of styles on the record: ["I think there's a lot of elements on this record that come from a lot of different places. I like to describe the sound of our band as kind of like this grunge-punk-meets-pop-electronic-alternative. You match all that stuff together and that's kind of what you get, because there's a wide variety of sounds, and we kind of draw from all of our influences."]

30 Seconds To Mars was attempting to shut down the Hollywood & Highland entertainment center and the Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles, California on Monday night (October 12th) to shoot footage for its new video. According to Buzznet, the band at press time was headed to the pier, which is home to an amusement park, and then the shopping center, to film part of the clip for "Kings & Queens," the first single from the band's upcoming album, This Is War. The goal was to gather as many people on bicycles as possible at each location, with frontman Jared Leto saying, "The goal is to get more riders on a pier than ever before. It will be the last shot of the film. Very epic and beautiful but we need the help from all the riders on the west side!"

Kings Of Leon have unveiled the details of the band's first DVD, titled Live At The O2 London, England. The disc will arrive on November 10th, with a Blu-Ray version surfacing two weeks later on the 24th. The DVD chronicles the group's June 30th, 2009 concert at the London arena in front of 18,000 fans, the first of a sold-out three-night stand. Drummer Nathan Followill told us why the Kings captured these shows for their DVD debut: ["England is really the first place that we broke, so we figured, you know, what better place to make a live DVD than a place where the fans have been the craziest for the longest. We just went in there and tried to play the best show that we could, and luckily we got it on camera and I think it's great. From what I've seen, it looks really good and sounds really good
