Rock News

Weezer has premiered the video for its current single, "(If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To," at Babelgum.com. The clip, shot by 500 Days Of Summer director Marc Webb, takes place in the town of Weezerville, where all the residents look suspiciously like members of the band, and where the conformist, 1950s vibe is shattered by the arrival of a bombshell played by Cloverfield star Odette Yustman. Upon her arrival, the men of Weezerville go a little mad and shoot arrows at each other, drive trucks over each other and wield chainsaws in their quest to get the girl.

Puddle Of Mudd took off on the rock radio charts this week with "Spaceship," the first single from the band's upcoming album, Volume 4: Songs In The Key Of Love And Hate. Guitarist Paul Phillips, who rejoined the band last spring after a four-year hiatus, gave us some hints about how the CD sounds: ["To me it's more Puddle Of Mudd than the last record. It's definitely more on the rock tip, a little more leaning toward (the band's 2001 breakthrough album) Come Clean, I would think, a little more of that angst. But it's also got the more heartfelt, slower-type songs, you know, in the 'Blurry' vein and what not. I think in a whole it's probably somewhere in between Come Clean and the last record.

Although Atreyu singer Alex Varkatzas got married earlier this month, he and his new wife have had to unfortunately postpone their honeymoon until December while Varkatzas promotes the band's new album, Congregation Of The Damned. Aside from that, the vocalist told us that marriage hasn't had an immediate impact on his life: ["I think she'd already changed my life before we got married, and I think getting married to her was just like a result of her changing my life, you know what I mean? I don't think I ever wanted to get married or do anything like that a hundred percent before I met her, and it just feels right and makes sense."]
