NEW 'GLOBAL' 30 SECONDS TO MARS SINGLE ARRIVES

30 Seconds To Mars has released "Kings & Queens," the first single from the band's upcoming third album, This Is War. The track includes the voices of 30 Seconds To Mars fans from eight different countries, including Iran, recorded and submitted online. Frontman Jared Leto told us how this global recording came about: ["What you hear on 'Kings & Queens' is actually the result of something, an event, that we held in Los Angeles called the Summit, where a thousand people came and sang on the song. I decided to do a digital version of the Summit so people could sit at home on their computers and participate alone or with friends and be a part of the recording process as well. So when you listen to 'Kings & Queens,' you're actually hearing thousands of people from different countries, different cultures, all singing on the song."]

MUDVAYNE RELEASING SELF-TITLED ALBUM IN DECEMBER

Mudvayne will release its fifth studio album, a self-titled effort, on December 22nd, according to the group's publicist. The new disc follows up 2008's The New Game and may actually have been partially recorded before that album: the band had completed most of a new CD back in 2008 before deciding to record a large amount of additional material that ended up forming the bulk of The New Game. It's not clear how much of the music on the upcoming release is from those original sessions, but singer Chad Gray told us that it does reach back to the band's roots: ["I don't want to say it's like (debut album) LD50 'cause it's not. You always hear bands that, you know, have been around for a while, 'Oh, dude, they're going back to their first stuff.' And then they never do, because it's just really not possible. It's Mudvayne, you know. I mean, I think on one level it's a natural progression of where we've been going, I think on another level it's a little retro-fitted, kind of leaning back toward some of the earlier stuff -- odd time signatures, weird rhythms and melodies, stuff like that.

PARAMORE SINGER SAYS VOICE IS 'BACK FOR THE ATTACK'

Paramore singer Hayley Williams told MTV News in an email that her voice is healed and she is ready to hit the road again, a week after the band postponed several dates after Williams was stricken with laryngitis. Williams wrote, "My vocal cords are back for the attack. I'm feelin' good!" The good news came on the same day that Paramore's new record, brand new eyes, debuted at a career-high Number Two on the Billboard album chart, selling 175,000 copies in its first week.
