
BLOGGER APOLOGIZES FOR ZACH BRAFF DEATH HOAX: The blogger responsible for spreading a rumor that Zach Braff has died has apologized for the hoax. New Jersey resident Chris Laganella, who circulated a fake CNN story about the actor's suicide, wrote on his website, "I'm sorry if I scared everyone. Zach, sorry if you got offended by me posting a fake suicide about you on the Internet. Your 32,000 square foot house would be pretty empty without you. Thanks for (apparently) taking it lightly, since I haven't gotten a letter about a lawsuit yet. Just so you know, I'm a huge fan; that's the only reason I made this page, believe it or not. Also, sorry for upsetting your mother."
MATTHEW PERRY LANDS NEW SHOW: Matthew Perry has a new television comedy in the works. The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the unnamed series currently being shopped to networks features the former Friends star as the fortysomething manager of a sports arena. Perry recently starred with Zac Efron in 17 Again.
CELEBS ANNOUNCED FOR SPIKE SCREAM AWARDS: Megan Fox, Hugh Jackman, Tobey Maguire and Quentin Taratino are all scheduled to attend the Spike TV special, Scream 2009. The network also announced that Liv Tyler, Sam Raimi, Elijah Wood and comic-book legend Stan Lee will also take part in the fourth annual event honoring sci-fi, fantasy and horror work in TV and film. The event will air on October 27th.
TATUM O'NEAL TAKES NEW INDIE ROLE: Tatum O'Neal will star in the title role of the upcoming indie drama Sweet Lorraine. The Hollywood Reporter announced that the Oscar-winner will play a former queen of the New York underground scene who, after moving to small-town New Jersey, gets caught up in local politics when her ex-lover becomes the mayor.
