Creed releases its first new album in eight years on Tuesday (October 27th), titled Full Circle. The record follows a five-year hiatus during which singer Scott Stapp pursued a solo career -- and sobered up -- while the other three original members started a new act called Alter Bridge. Stapp told us that since coming back together, Creed has been looking forward to a fresh start: ["We're all fortunate that we're in a position to have a second chance to make a first impression, and a second chance to really be like a new artist. You know, Mark (Tremonti, guitarist) and I have always thrived in these type of situations.
Them Crooked Vultures made their first official single, called "New Fang," available to radio stations on Monday (October 26th). The track is also streaming at the trio's website and is taken from the band's self-titled debut album, which is due for release on November 17th. Meanwhile, following their first North American tour of mostly East Coast cities earlier this month, the group will next head west for four gigs in November.
Australian rockers Wolfmother have released their second album, titled Cosmic Egg. It follows the group's self-titled 2006 debut, but features an all-new lineup with the exception of singer/guitarist Andrew Stockdale. The frontman told us that he wasn't sure at first if a new version of Wolfmother would work: ["It was definitely weird for a while playing with other people, but once we played like the old songs -- for some reason in my mind I thought those songs could never be played again, you know what I mean? But then when I did play them with other people, I thought, 'This works! Like, we're able to do this. There's still life within this music and there's still more to do.'
