JON AND KATE GOSSELIN SPAR OVER MISSING MONEY

Kate Gosselin is taking action after her estranged husband Jon allegedly withdrew $230,000 from their joint account, leaving her with just $1,000 to live on. In addition to filing a motion in court to have the money returned, Kate went on the Today show, where she vented her frustration with the situation.

Kate told Meredith Vieira, ["When you've left your children and their mother without the funds to lay for the roof over their head, it's not acceptable. I need that money to provide for them. We were in the position after our sextuplets were born that we could not pay our bills. We did the show to provide a better life for them. Never did I think I'd be back in the same position."] SOUNDCUE (:21 OC: . . . the same position)

DAVID LETTERMAN APOLOGIZES TO WIFE ON 'LATE SHOW'

David Letterman used the platform of his Late Show to apologize on Monday (October 5th) night for the difficulties that his sex scandal has caused his colleagues and his wife. ["It did not occur to me last week when I was discussing having had sex with women who worked on this show, that then what would happen is reporters and newspaper people and radio and TV would start hounding the staff and saying what do you say, are you, and this and that. It was very, very unpleasant and I would just like to set the record straight, no, I'm not having sex with these women. Those episodes are in the past. So my apologies to subjecting them to that vulnerability. And being brow-beaten and humiliated. It never occurred to me. SOUNDCUE (:47 OC: . . . I don't remember)

Letterman also apologized to his wife saying she was hurt by the scandal. ["My wife Regina she has been horribly hurt by my behavior. And when something happens like that, if you hurt a person, and it's your responsibility, you try to fix it. And at that point there's only two things that can happen. Either you going to make some progress and get it fixed or you are going to fall short and perhaps not get it fixed. So let me tell you, folks, I got my work cut out for me."] SOUNDCUE (:29 OC: . . . out for me)
