Muse releases its fifth album on Tuesday (September 15th), titled The Resistance. The album arrives just a week after the British trio earned its first Number One hit at rock radio with the CD's first single, "Uprising," which they performed as part of the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (September 13th). Muse is on the brink of massive success in the U.S. after years as a cult act. Frontman Matthew Bellamy told us a while back that the band relied on touring to build its U.S audience: ["It always seems that the band has become known through playing live, mainly, as opposed to record sales or anything like that. It seems like the live side of things was always the most, the kind of, that was the heart and soul of the band was what we do onstage. And it seemed wherever we toured, you know, we'd come back and it'd be a bigger venue in the same town kind of thing. So I suppose in some ways, that's sort of an old school way of getting yourself out there, you know, and I think over here that was great."]
Rob Zombie will kick off his upcoming North American tour on October 29th in Phoenix, Arizona, according to a press release. The trek will support Zombie's fourth solo studio album, which has now been given the title Hellbilly Deluxe 2: Noble Jackals, Penny Dreadfuls and the Systematic Dehumanization of Cool. Hellbilly Deluxe was the name of Zombie's first and most successful solo outing, issued back in 1998. Two more shows have been announced, on October 30th in Las Vegas and October 31st in Los Angeles, with more to be unveiled soon.
Zombie will hit the road with the same band that toured behind his 2006 CD, Educated Horses, consisting of guitarist John 5, bassist Piggy D. and drummer Tommy Clufetos. Although Zombie is also busy these days directing movies, he told us he can always count on his current bandmates to return: ["Whenever I'm making a movie they go off and do whatever they want, but they're all part of this band. We just did all of our photos for the tour and stuff. It's the same band, it's just that I know those guys get itchy to play.
Creed will help launch a new rock news website called Rockpit.com by webcasting a Houston concert at the site live on September 25th at 9:00 p.m. ET. Creed fans can register now in order to view the free show, as well as gain access to other content on the site. Creed is currently in the midst of its first tour in more than seven years. The band reunited earlier this year after disbanding in 2004, with its first new album since 2001's Weathered, titled Full Circle, due out on October 27th.
3 Doors Down frontman Brad Arnold got married over the weekend to horseback rider Jennifer Sanderford in their hometown of Escatawpa, Missisippi. The couple has been dating for three years, but their history goes back way further than that. Arnold tells us how they got together -- thanks to his friend Justin: ["I've known her since she was three years old. We grew up in the same little town, and she moved up to another small little town up in Northern Mississippi and grew up most of her life up there. But I've known her since she was a child and she's known me -- wait, hang on a minute I'm still a child (laughs). But her first cousin is my best friend. And a friend of hers was going out on a date with Justin and he didn't want to go out by himself. So me and Jen went out with him and we just kind of hit it off. And it wound up being a good thing because they fought all night and we had to referree."]
