
Police are searching for killer committed to a mental institution after he escaped during a field trip to the Spokane County Interstate Fair.
The sheriff's office were "dismayed" that the Eastern State's Hospital didn't notify authorities for more than an hour and a half after they knew he was missing.
"It appears now there was a two hour lapse from the point he disappeared from his attendant to the sheriff's office was notified of his escape and obviously that's a concern to us

The mayor broke his silence today about some major issues within the city, the suspension of police K-9 units, and the suspension of several fire fighters for their alleged role in a sexual misconduct investigation.
"These are the kinds of complaints that have prompted us to take a hard look at what's happening," said Mayor Lorenzo Langford as he revealed graphic photos of injuries he said were caused by police K-9s in the city, and surveillance video fro 2005 of a police dog assisting in an arrest, he said the pictures speak for themselves.
Langford also addressed the allegations of sexual misconduct involving teenagers and firefighters inside one of the city's firehouses. "If the allegations are true," said Langford, "I want to terminate immediately, if not sooner, all persons involved."
A prosecutor was considering Thursday whether to file criminal charges against a Hofstra University freshman who recanted claims that she was gang-raped by five men in a dormitory bathroom.
The student, whom officials have declined to identify, has been suspended from school pending a disciplinary hearing,
The attorney for one of the accused men, 20-year-old Kevin Taveras, said a video of the sexual encounter confirms reports that the victim was not forcibly attacked.
Police are searching for the suspect who robbed the Northfield 7-Eleven early Thursday morning.
Police say the man seen here entered the convenience store on Jackson Avenue and New Road around 2a.m. with a dark colored handgun.
The suspect managed to flee the scene with an undetermined amount of cash.
He is described as a black man, about 6’0” tall with a heavy build. He was wearing a partial facemask, as well as a gold colored hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
