Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has posted a new video clip on YouTube in conjunction with the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). In the clip, Armstrong warns that the planet is facing a dangerous climate crisis and encourages people to take action. In the clip, Armstrong says, "We finally have people in charge who understand how important the environment is, and how real the threats are to our planet. But having a President who understands the climate crisis doesn't mean we've won . . . we need to make our voices heard. We know what the problems are, and we know what needs to be done. Go to greendaynrdc.com and be a part of the solution."

At the website, fans are encouraged to make their own videos, with the creators of the five best winning a pair of drumsticks used by Green Day's Tre Cool on tour.

Was the Dave Matthews Band being recruited to perform at a wedding for former senator John Edwards and his mistress Rielle Hunter? According to the New York Times, Edwards' former aide, Andrew Young, claims Edwards told Hunter that once his cancer-stricken wife, Elizabeth Edwards, died they would have a rooftop wedding with special guests -- Dave Matthews Band. Young reportedly said that Edwards "once calmed an anxious Ms. Hunter by promising her that after his wife died, he would marry her in a rooftop ceremony in New York with an appearance by the Dave Matthews Band." Looking back, singer Dave Matthews has never supported Edwards directly, but the band did play a benefit concert for Senator John Kerry during the 2004 presidential election, when Edwards was the vice-presidential candidate. And Dave Matthews Band violinist Boyd Tinsley played two fund-raising events for Edwards in North Carolina in 2007. Finally, the webisodes that Hunter made of Edwards while on the campaign trail featured "True Reflections," a song written and performed by Boyd Tinsley.
