Rock News

Three Days Grace launched a small radio-sponsored tour of U.S. cities on Thursday (September 24th) in Baltimore, according to Tunelab Music. The intimate gigs will showcase tunes from the band's newly released album, Life Starts Now, with tickets available only through the radio stations. The lead single from the CD, called "Break," is already Number Six on the rock radio chart. Frontman Adam Gontier told us that the title sums up the track: ["I mean the song's just, it is fairly self-explanatory. It's about, you know, trying to just break away from everything and get a break. In a way it's just about getting away. I mean, there's not much more to it than that

It's looking like Pearl Jam could score its first Number One album in 13 years. According to Billboard.com, industry insiders say the group's new effort, Backspacer, could sell between 175,000 to 200,000 copies by the end of the week -- putting it ahead of the competition on the next Billboard Top 200 album chart. The set, which went on sale Sunday (September 20th) marks Pearl Jam's first without a major label. It's being sold exclusively at Target, iTunes, Pearl Jam's website and independent stores.

Papa Roach and Jet will team up for a co-headlining U.S. tour this fall and winter, beginning in late October and extending through the end of November. A total of four bands will be on the bill, with tickets being kept under 40 dollars. The other acts, as well as the complete list of dates and venues, will be announced soon, although tickets for a Denver show on October 26th and a St. Paul, Minnesota gig on November 5th will go on sale this Friday and Saturday (September 25th and 26th).
