A jury was selected on Monday (September 21st) that is set to hear an extortion case involving John Travolta. The Associated Press reported that the nine-person jury will begin hearing evidence on Tuesday, but although Travolta's name is on a witness list, it's unclear when he might take the stand.. Two people are on trial in the Bahamas for allegedly threatening to release a document related to the treatment of Travolta's late son Jett if he didn't pony up $25 million.


There was reportedly tension between Paula Abdul and Kathy Griffin at last week's VH1 Divas show. Sources tell the New York Daily News that, "Paula had to be coaxed onstage to present with Kathy. Kathy has made fun of her A LOT in the past, and she's still pretty offended. She was leery about what Kathy might say about her in public."

Paula addressed Griffin's sharp-tongued ways during the broadcast, asking the comedienne to promise not to make fun of her anymore. Kathy acquiesced briefly, telling the night's host, "I pinky swear I won't make fun of you ... until you leave the room."

Griffin recently joked about Abdul's departure from American Idol saying, "It's very tough for me emotionally. I can't imagine my life without Paula. In a way that Paula can't imagine her life without, let's say, a little Vicodin."



David Hasselhoff is blaming his Sunday (September 20th) hospitalization on drugs he was taking to treat an ear infection. Although sources told TMZ.com that Hasselhoff's daughter called for help because her father was extremely drunk, his reps told the website on Monday that a combination of Antivert, for his ear, and Antabuse, a medication he takes that prevents alcoholics from drinking, "messed up his equilibrium."

The rep said that Hasselhoff felt sick but couldn't reach his family doctor, hence the call to paramedics. TMZ.com was also told that Hasselhoff was released an hour after being treated at the hospital.

TMZ was originally told that 17-year-old Hayley Hasselhoff called her mother Pamela for help after realizing her father's drunken condition. It was reportedly one of Pamela's friends who called 911 and had paramedics sent to the residence.
