WOMAN FINDS SNAKE IN RENTAL CAR: A college student in Jacksonville, Florida found a 3 1/2 inch snake waiting for her on the dashboard of a rental car after being dropped off by the company. After calling the company, a trapper was hired who was able to capture the animal and determined that it was a non-venomous red rat snake. It is believed the snake got in the car through the wheel. The company gave the student another car, but she said she was a little nervous getting in right away. (Sun-Sentinel)
DRUNK TEENAGER SLEEPING ON RAILROAD TRACK NARROWLY AVOIDS DEATH: A drunk French teenager who feel asleep on train tracks slept soundly while a speeding train approached. Luckily, the conductor spotted the boy lying on the tracks and was able to brake only a few hundred feet away. Awoken by police and firefighters, the boy gave them the finger and rolled back over to sleep again. (Reuters)
BOY FAKES KIDNAPPING TO HIDE HIS POOR GRADES: An 11 year-old Alabama boy faked his own kidnapping because he was afraid to bring home a bad report card. The boy claimed a man with a gun forced him into a car, but that he was able to escape by jumping out. Police say they were suspicious that the boy was able to escape with his band instrument, but not his bookbag. He later confessed making up the story to his grandparents, who called police to apologize. No charges are being filed against the boy at this time. (AP)
