Celebrity Trash

The Jay Leno Show is off to a strong start despite unflattering reviews. The Hollywood Reporter announced that Leno's primetime premiere pulled in 17.7 million viewers on Monday (September 14th) night, a number that is 34 percent stronger than Conan O'Brien's debut as the Tonight Show host and 50 percent higher than Leno's final Tonight Show last May.

Despite the impressive debut numbers, NBC Universal CEO Jeff Zucker said that the show's success will be judged on a long-term basis.

Fresh off her stint on The View, Kate Gosselin is reportedly being considered for her own talk show. Sources tell E! that Telepictures -- the company behind Ellen DeGeneres' and Tyra Banks' shows -- is looking to develop another female-driven program featuring the likes of Gosselin and Food Network star Paula Deen.

A source told E!, "They're looking around and casting for other women to be on the show with them. But they want all the women to be moms." Gosselin, of course, is the mother of eight young children while Deen has two grown sons.

Patrick Swayze's most famous co-star remembers the late actor as a "real cowboy with a tender heart." Jennifer Grey, who starred with Swayze in Dirty Dancing, lamented on his death saying, "When I think of him, I think of being in his arms when we were kids, dancing, practicing the lift in the freezing lake, having a blast doing this tiny little movie we thought no one would ever see."

She added, "Patrick was a rare and beautiful combination of raw masculinity and amazing grace," she adds. "My heart goes out to his wife and childhood sweetheart, Lisa Niemi, to his mom, Patsy, and to the rest of their family."

Another one of Swayze's well-known leading ladies, Demi Moore, remembered him by saying, "Patrick you are loved by so many and your light will forever shine in all of our lives. And in the words of Sam to Molly. 'It's amazing Molly. The love inside, you take it with you.' I love and will miss you Patrick."
OTHERS STARS REMEMBER SWAYZE

Travis Fimmel, who costarred with Swayze on the A&E series, The Beast: "He was an inspiration, a gentleman and I was blessed to have worked with him and even more blessed to have called him my friend. My heartfelt condolences go out to his wife Lisa and their families."
Alyssa Milano: "RIP Patrick. You were a great talent. And more importantly ... a true gentleman.
C. Thomas Howell, who costarred alongside Swayze in The Outsiders, Red Dawn and Grandview, U.S.A.: "I have always had a special place in my heart for Patrick. While I was fortunate enough to work with him in three films, it was our passion for horses that forged a friendship between us that I treasure to this day. Not only did we lose a fine actor today, I lost my older Outsiders brother. My heart goes out to not only his entire family, but all his fans as well."
A&E: "We are saddened by the loss of one of our generation's greatest talents and a member of the A&E family. Patrick's work on The Beast was an inspiration to us all. He will be greatly missed and our thoughts are with his wife Lisa and his entire family during this difficult time."
Kirstie Alley, who costarred with Swayze in the 1985 TV miniseries North and South: "I will always cherish my amazing memories of Patrick...we had so much fun together...come back soon Patrick, we need you here on earth."
California Governor and former actor Arnold Schwarzenegger: "Patrick Swayze was a talented and passionate artist who struck a memorable chord with audiences throughout the world. He played a wide range of characters both on stage and in movies and his celebrated performances made the hard work of acting look effortless -- which I know from experience is not easy. As a fan and as an actor, I admired Patrick and I know that he will be dearly missed. On behalf of all Californians, Maria and I send our deepest condolences to Patrick's family, friends and fans."
