PATRICK SWAYZE DIES AT 57
Actor Patrick Swayze died Monday at the age of 57 after months of battling pancreatic cancer. The Golden Globe-nominated star of Dirty Dancing and Ghost passed away peacefully with family at his side, his publicist said. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lisa Niemi.
Swayze announced in March 2008 that he was suffering from the disease, a particularly deadly form of cancer which is considered incurable. His diagnosis came just as he was beginning work on the A&E TV series The Beast. He completed one season of the show, which received decent ratings. But, the network said it had reluctantly decided not to renew the show for a second season.
'INDIANA JONES 5' IN THE WORKS: The revival of Indiana Jones appears to be in full effect. Harrison Ford said that a fifth installment of the popular franchise -- which was revived last year after an elongated break -- is in the works. Ford told France's Le Figaro, "The story for the new Indiana Jones is in the process of taking form. Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and myself are agreed on what the fifth adventure will concern, and George is actively at work. If the script is good, I'll be very happy to put the costume on again."
RAY ROMANO STARRING ON GOLF REALITY SHOW: Ray Romano will be the focus of a new reality series on the Golf Channel. The network announced that the former sitcom star will be featured in The Haney Project, which follows Tiger Woods' swing coach, Hank Haney, as he attempts to improve the game of a celebrity. The project is expected to air beginning in March.
Megan Fox had an unlikely defender after several members from the Transformers crew trashed the comely actress in an open letter posted on director Michael Bay's website. Bay himself condemned the crew's musings, which were prompted by a recent Fox interview in which she compared him to Hitler.
After the unnamed crew members wrote that the 23-year-old was "dumb as a rock" and the "queen of talking trailer trash and posing like a porn star," Bay pulled the letter and posted in its place, "I don't condone the crew letter to Megan. And I don't condone Megan's outlandish quotes. But her crazy quips are part of her crazy charm. The fact of the matter I still love working with her, and I know we still get along. I even expect more crazy quotes from her on Transformers 3."
