A new experiment in network television, the primetime comedy talk show, finally launches tonight (September 14th) at 10 p.m., when late-night veteran Jay Leno launches his much-ballyhooed show on NBC. The former Tonight Show host will be doing The Jay Leno Show five nights a week.

Jerry Seinfeld is scheduled to appear on the first show, along with hip hop stars Jay-Z, Rihanna and Kanye West.

Johnny Depp has announced he will reprise his role as fey pirate Jack Sparrow in an upcoming fourth installment of the blockbuster Pirates of the Caribbean series. Depp sailed onstage aboard a pirate ship to make the announcement to the crowd at a Disney convention in Anaheim on Friday evening.

The movie, to be titled Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, is due in the summer of 2011.

On stage as Sparrow, Depp joked that he'd like a little snack, and suggested that Kermit the Frog, who had been on stage earlier, would do nicely because he "probably tastes like chicken."

TILA TEQUILA TO SUE SHAWNE MERRIMAN: The San Diego District Attorney has closed the case without charges due to insufficient evidence of a crime. But reality star Tila Tequila says she'll sue San Diego Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman. Tila says Merriman choked and beat her during a violent incident at his home on September 5th.
