Simon Cowell says that American Idol is "different" without Paula Abdul. The judge told Extra that talking about the show pre and post Abdul is "like comparing a carrot to a banana." The 49-year-old added that he's not worried about Abdul's uncertain future because the entertainer is "someone who will always work." Despite their occasional on-set tension, he admitted, "I miss her."
Fox will not broadcast President Obama's address to a joint session of Congress on Wednesday (September 9th) night, making it the only major network not to do so. ABC, CBS and NBC all agreed last week to carry the primetime address, and are expected to incur at least $1 million in ad revenue losses from the pre-emption.
Filming began this week on The Green Hornet, which stars Seth Rogen and Cameron Diaz. RadarOnline.com reports that the film has taken more than ten years to get off the ground and isn't scheduled to hit theaters until December of 2010. Rogen reportedly dropped 30 pounds for the movie, which also features Nicolas Cage.
The Jackson Family has claimed that it is unhappy with the overzealous coverage of Michael Jackson's private funeral, held last Thursday (September 3rd) at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California. Though the family kept the media outside at the gate, had the area declared a no-fly zone, and provided pool camera footage of just the arrivals, they say the private service --which was not televised -- was disrupted by news helicopters.
In a statement issued Friday, September 4th, youngest brother Randy Jackson said: "As a family, we are all aware of how Michael's life, and his death, touched so many around the world. It is why we held a public memorial in my brother's honor. And it is the reason we chose to release a small amount of footage leading up to yesterday's ceremony at Forest Lawn.
