Rock News

Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo spoke with Billboard.com on Friday (August 21st) about the band's seventh studio album, Raditude, which is due out October 27th. While Cuomo confirmed that two songs the band recently performed live, called "The Girl Got Hot" and "I'm Your Daddy," will be on the album, along with the first single, "(If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To." But he added that the group is still choosing from a list of fifteen finished tunes to make up the final track listing.

30 Seconds To Mars has extended its "Summit" initiative on Twitter to fans in Iran, according to Spinner.com. The band has been asking fans all over the world to contribute vocals to its upcoming album, This Is War, by recording them into their home computers and emailing them directly to the group. Although the initial Summit was open to fans in Mexico, Canada, the U.K., Japan, Australia, Germany, Italy and France, singer Jared Leto said, "We got an e-mail from a fan in Iran saying he really wished he could be on the record," adding that the band worked with Twitter to allow access.

A report posted late Thursday (August 20th) at BostonHerald.com cites anonymous "band sources" as saying that Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler has fallen off the wagon and was drunk when he fell off the stage in Sturgis, South Dakota on August 6th. Tyler sustained a broken shoulder plus head and neck injuries, forcing the band to cancel the rest of what was already a troubled tour. But the Herald report suggests that Tyler's problems started before that, with a source saying, "Everyone is very worried about him. All of this didn't happen overnight. Sturgis was just the final straw.
