Melanie Griffith has checked into Cirque Lodge, a rehab facility in Utah. The actress's publicist Robin Baum told Star magazine, "She is there to reinforce her commitment to stay healthy. This is part of a routine plan that was designed between her and her doctors years ago." However, a supposed insider counters that the rehab stint is actually a bid to save her marriage to Antonio Banderas. The source said, "The reason Melanie checked in was her husband was demanding that she get clean and sober. He told her that if she didn't get the help she needed it would be the end of their marriage." Star reports that the 52-year-old actress has battled addictions to drugs and booze since she was a teenager.
The Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery crypt above the one in which Marilyn Monroe's body is kept was sold for $4.6 million. The Associated Press reported that an eBay auction for the space was help with bidding starting at $500,000. Monroe was laid to rest at the cemetery in 1962.
LaToya Jackson, Victoria Beckham and Kathy Griffin are among the celebrities who will be filling in for Elisabeth Hasselbeck while The View co-host is on maternity leave. Jackson is set to join the show on September 16th and September 18th, marking her first time on the program since the death of her brother Michael.
Iconic supermodel Cindy Crawford admits that she too has flaws. The 43-year-old tells the September issue of Redbook, "I have cellulite. I admit it. But sometimes I just say, 'Screw it, I am going to wear a bikini.'"
Crawford says that she doesn't let the media's appetite for gossip effect how she presents herself. She stated, "I think I look good for my age. I am not 25; I am 43. That feels like a big pressure, especially when the National Enquirer is dying to get a picture. I am so aware that I don't want to change the way I live because of that kind of attention. So you say, 'Screw it. I am wearing a bikini, and I am not putting on a cover-up.' You just brace yourself for a bad picture."
Nobody knew whether director Quentin Tarantino's quirky World War II drama/fantasy Inglourious Basterds would be a success. But that didn't stop actor and comedian B.J. Novak from wanting to be in the movie, even if it meant taking time off from the hit TV series for which he writes and co-stars, The Office: ["Yeah, I did. I had to take about three months off The Office, which was a very tough ask, and it was tough to schedule. But it did make sense, if it hadn't made sense, they would have made me choose. You know, I've been with The Office gang for five or six years, I've never really asked for a big favor like that, and they knew how much it meant to me too. They knew that this wasn't just a career move, this was something personal for me too."
