Linkin Park, Green Day and Metallica are among the acts nominated in the "Best Band/Artist" category at the first-ever Inked True Colors Awards, according to Blabbermouth.net. The event will be held on Saturday, October 3rd at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. The awards will "celebrate the tattoo culture and lifestyle by honoring the influencers and tastemakers of the tattoo community," according to a press release, with a concert to follow the awards ceremony.


Creed's new single began streaming online on Wednesday (August 19th) and is also hitting radio stations at the same time. The song, called "Overcome," is the first sample of music from the group's reunion album, Full Circle. Singer Scott Stapp told us that many of the tunes on the new record have been inspired by both the band's reunion and their growth as people: ["You know, it's a lot of songs and emotions and feelings that have been kind of under the rug, but it's storytelling. And, you know, that's going on again, but it's being done in a fresh way that characterizes where we are as artists now. There's a lot of topics discussed, but it's from a different place and a different type of reflection, and a different level of maturity


Sick Puppies were about a third of the way through the recording of their second album, Tri-Polar, when they got a call from the WWE asking for a track to serve as the theme song for this past spring's "Extreme Rules" pay-per-view wrestling event. The song the band submitted, "You're Going Down," also became the first single from the new CD. Singer and guitarist Shim Moore told us what the trio took away from the experience: ["It sort of helped guide the record in some ways, because it taught us how to write specifically for one idea. I think that's why people seem to be responding really well to 'You're Going Down' because by the time the song's finished, the crowds are going crazy, man. And all the people that love wrestling are really getting into the band now because of it, because it worked so well with the images of the wrestling
