Celebrity Trash


Former MTV host Ken Ober has passed away at the age of 52. A representative for the comedian, who was best known for hosting MTV's Remote Control beginning in the late 1980's, confirmed his death, but offered no other details. After Remote Control, Ober went on to host other game shows, like Smush" and "Make Me Laugh. In the years since, Ober worked as a supervising producer on Tough Crowd With Colin Quinn, a consulting producer on The New Adventures of Old Christine and a writer and producer on Mind of Mencia.


FX has snagged the TV rights to the new hit disaster movie 2012. The Hollywood Reporter announced that the network wasted no time in securing the film after its $225 million opening weekend worldwide and will begin airing it in -- 2012.


Flavor Flav is reportedly experimenting with a directing career. The New York Post reports that the former VH1 reality star entered Doritos' annual "Crash the Super Bowl" ad contest, in which users are asked to submit their own ads to compete for a $1 million prize. A source at the company told the paper, "He did this totally randomly and unprovoked. And it's actually pretty damn good."


Hayden Panettiere will reportedly produce a new CW series called HMS, which will follow a class of intelligent Harvard Medical School students. The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the drama will appeal to a younger audience than Grey's Anatomy, but have a similar feel to the ABC show.



David Letterman's rep has denied reports that the talk show host's wife kicked him out of the couple's home in the wake of his sex scandal. After the National Enquirer reported that 49-year-old Regina Lasko booted Letterman from the family's Westchester mansion, his rep told the New York Daily News, "The National Enquirer has it wrong."

The tabloid claimed that Letterman had moved into his luxury loft in lower Manhattan full-time after angering Lasko with the complete truth about his affairs.
