Rock News

Tuesday (November 3rd) sees a double blast from the past of Nirvana. First up is a deluxe reissue of the band's first full-length album, 1989's Bleach, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of its arrival. Released by the band's original label, Sub Pop Records, the special edition includes a previously unreleased live performance, a new remastering job on the original album and a collection of never-before-seen photos. The new recording, a live version of the Vaseline song "Molly's Lips" taped on February 9th, 1980 in Portland, Oregon, has been remixed by Bleach producer Jack Endino.

Due to overwhelming demand, Deftones have added a second benefit show on November 20th at the Avalon in Los Angeles, following the original gig on the 19th. Both shows will raise money for Deftones bassist Chi Cheng, who remains in a semi-comatose state after being involved in a car crash exactly one year ago on Tuesday (November 3rd). All proceeds will go toward the mounting medical bills of Cheng, who was dropped by his insurance company two months after his accident. (AntiMusic)

Mudvayne has posted a new song called "Heard It All Before" exclusively at MetalSucks.net. The track is taken from the band's upcoming album and will continue to stream at the site until the album comes out. The quartet's self-titled fifth studio effort will arrive on December 22nd
