MUSE ASKED TO WRITE MUSIC FOR 'CLASH OF THE TITANS'

Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy told England's Daily Star that the band has been approached to write music for the soundtrack of the upcoming fantasy action film, Clash of The Titans. Bellamy didn't say for sure whether the band would contribute, but revealed, "It's something we're up for doing -- it's just a case of timing because we're always on tour. Clash Of The Titans is the first interesting offer we've had for film work. We're definitely interested in writing for films at some point when we get a break from being on the road."

NICKELBACK FLESHES OUT SPRING TOUR

Nickelback has fleshed out the details of its spring North American tour, adding 19 dates to the schedule and extending the trek into early June. The first confirmed date is April 6th in London, Ontario, with the road trip ending for now on June 3rd in Vancouver, Canada. As previously announced, Breaking Benjamin, Sick Puppies and Shinedown are the opening acts. Nickelback's latest CD, Dark Horse, was released in November 2008 and has sold 2.5 million copies. The latest singles from the record are "Never Gonna Be Alone" and "Burn It To The Ground."

IS SOUNDGARDEN REUNION REALLY HAPPENING?

The music world was rocked on New Year's Day (January 1st) by the news -- posted at singer Chris Cornell's website and Twitter page, plus a new site called Soundgarden World -- that grunge gods Soundgarden would reportedly reunite in 2010 after a 12-year absence. But a closer look at what was posted actually says nothing of the kind, throwing doubt on what -- if anything -- the band really has in store.

The post reads, "The 12-year break is over and school is back in session. Sign up now. Knights of the Soundtable ride again!" But Knights of the Soundtable was the name of Soundgarden's fan club, and the message does not say explicitly that Soundgarden itself is returning -- although it is worded vaguely enough to hint at a possible reunion.
