
MISDEMEANOR CHARGE AGAINST GERARD BUTLER DROPPED: A judge has dropped a misdemeanor battery charge against Gerard Butler. A Los Angeles Superior Court spokesperson confirmed that the charge -- which stemmed from a paparazzo scuffle -- was dismissed at a Tuesday (January 5th) hearing after the actor completed community service. Prosecutors said that Butler had a "run-in" with a photographer back in October after leaving a premiere party, however the actor's manager contends he was "forced to have his driver stop the car after the photographer sped through red lights and almost struck two pedestrians."
EVAN RACHEL WOOD ENGAGED? Evan Rachel Wood is reportedly engaged to her on-off goth rocker beau, Marilyn Manson. Britain's Mirror tabloid reported that 41-year-old Manson proposed to the 22-year-old actress on stage in Paris earlier this week and she happily accepted.
STEPHEN BALDWIN COMING UP ON 21 YEARS SOBER: Stephen Baldwin will celebrate 21 years of sobriety later this month. The actor/reality star told his co-stars on Britain's Celebrity Big Brother, "This January 21st . . . when I'm in here . . . it'll be 21 (years). I'm 43 years old now and I'm sober 21 years." He discussed kicking his cocaine habit, explaining, "The revelation I had, it was one of those real in-the-mirror to myself moments -- 'What do you want to do? Because if you want to fly as high as you can as an actor, you cut this ball off your ankle.'"
SHARON STONE TO GUEST STAR ON 'LAW & ORDER: SVU': Sharon Stone will be appearing in a multi-episode arc on NBC's Law & Order: SVU. EW.com reports that the actress will play a former cop-turned-prosecutor on four shows beginning in April. Show creator Dick Wolf said, "It is obviously a thrill and a delight to have a star of Sharon's wattage and importance joining SVU."
CAUSE OF CASEY JOHNSON'S DEATH DEFERRED PENDING TOXICOLOGY REPORTS
An autopsy conducted Tuesday (January 5th) on Casey Johnson's body found no signs of trauma, but the cause of death has been deferred pending toxicology reports. TMZ.com reported on the findings, adding that law enforcement sources believe the Johnson & Johnson heiress was dead for several days before her body was discovered.
REDMOND O'NEAL ARRESTED FOR DRUGS AGAIN
Redmond O'Neal has again been arrested over drugs, meaning he'll be facing a lengthy prison sentence. RadarOnline.com reports that Farrah Fawcett's son had been clean for the past six months while in a treatment center, but slipped up during his first 24-hour pass out of the facility.
Radar reports that after returning to the treatment center on December 29th, staff noticed that he seemed "altered," and the 24-year-old was subsequently arrested on a drug violation.
People magazine reports that at a hearing on Tuesday (January 5th), Redmond was ordered into a 30-day jail rehab facility pending a February 2nd sentencing. Radar added that he's facing up to six years in prison because this latest arrest violates probation terms of a previous drug offense.
