Johnny Depp is GQ's cover model for its 25 Most Stylish Men issue. The magazine classified the actor as being "at the top of his game," despite the fact that he often shows up to fancy award shows with torn clothes and ragged hair.

GQ described him as "a unicorn, a really glamorous, one-of-a-kind eccentric." They continued, "Usually guys try to fit in; they don't want to get criticized. Simon Cowell may be leaving the powerhouse enterprise that is American Idol later this year, but he's on his way to becoming an even bigger media mogul. According to The Financial Times, Cowell has inked a long-term venture with Sony Music Entertainment to produce music, television and film. He's kicking things off with the U.S. version of hit British TV show, The X Factor. The new venture will be called Syco -- named after Cowell's record label. He will also serve as both a judge and the executive producer of The X Factor.

Meanwhile, American Idol creator Simon Fuller recently revealed his own plans for a new entertainment company called XIX. British media outlets have speculated that Fuller and Cowell's recent moves are just more indications of their professional rivalry -- as The X Factor expects to go head-to-head with American Idol. In a new interview, Fuller brushed off any rivalry talk, but he did say, "I want Idol to be purely about talent. We're not going to be led into the mud, we're going to stay on our hill."

Fox appears as though they're trying to cover up a deal with Conan O'Brien. As the world waits for official word from NBC about his future, TMZ.com reported that CONANONFOX.COM was registered under the name Twentieth Century Fox last week.

The network, however, denied that it had anything to do with the domain name or the corresponding Twitter account.

TMZ reported on Tuesday that the registered domain owner has now been changed to Domains By Proxy, Inc., a generic company designed to shield the owner of a web domain name.

Snooki won't be leaving our TV sets anytime soon. The loud-mouthed Jersey Shore star addressed rumors that she's going to star in her own reality show, telling Usmagazine.com, "Definitely there is no set thing, but it has been talked about."

The single 21-year-old added, "I got offers from VH1 and other reality networks." It's been reported that the show would be a Shot at Love-like reality series called, Snookin' for Love.

Heidi Montag is responding to criticism of her extensive plastic surgeries, clarifying that just because she's "obsessed" -- doesn't mean she's addicted to cosmetic surgery.

When asked on Tuesday's Good Morning America for a response to those who say she is addicted, the 23-year-old replied, "I would say that none of those people know me at all, and that's just a judgment. I'm not addicted. If I were addicted, I would have had 10 plastic surgeries." She again was forced to clarify, noting that she had ten procedures on the same day, not ten separate surgeries.

Actress Mo'Nique is getting new recognition and acclaim after winning a Golden Globe Award for best supporting actress in a motion picture for her role as an abusive mother in the film Precious. But she is also getting attention for showing off her hairy, unshaven legs on the ceremony's red carpet in Beverly Hills last Sunday (January 17th).

Though the BET late night talk show host has not spoken out about her choice not to shave or wax for the awards show, Mo'Nique has shared her opinion about her choice to go au naturel in the past. Appearing on The View back in 2006, according to frisky.com, the actress explained: "I must show America what a real leg looks like ... because it's too much in the morning, every morning, to shave, to cut, you got Band-Aids baby ... I really think hair on a woman's legs is a black woman's thing."

Entertainment Weekly reports that Joss Whedon would direct the episode, which would likely air in late spring. The David Letterman extortion case isn't going away any time soon. In the latest development, a judge refused to dismiss the case against CBS producer, Robert Halderman, who allegedly attempted to extort $2 million dollars from Letterman last fall by using incriminating details about his affairs with female employees. Halderman requested that the case be tossed, but New York City Supreme Court Justice Charles Solomon dismissed his bid, noting that his conduct "is a classic example of an issue that is best left for a trial jury to decide." A Letterman lawyer has said the talk show host would be willing to testify in court.

POLICE ARREST A MAN DISGUISED IN WOMEN'S WEAR: A man dressed in women's clothing was arrested in Knoxville, Tenn. for assaulting an officer, according to the police. The 19-year-old suspect had four outstanding warrants with charges of assaulting an officer, resisting arrest, as well as a DUI. It was reported that the teen was pulled over for driving a car that was reported stolen. He then ran to the nearest public housing and entered a woman's apartment. BIRDS OF PREY DEPLOYED TO STOP SEAGULL ATTACKS: Due to the reported seagull attacks in North Wales, there is a new project being launched where birds of prey will be deployed in order to stop such attacks on shoppers. The idea came from Mike Espley, a Rhyl councillor, after he had witnessed 30 seagull attacks on shoppers in a single day. The first patrols will begin on March 1st and include such birds as hawks, falcons and an eage owl. The birds will remain with their handlers, who will be wearing medieval dress, and will not be allowed to fly. CASEY JOHNSON FUNERAL SET: A funeral for heiress Casey Johnson will be held in New York on Sunday (January 10th). E! reports that friends and family members of the 30-year-old gathered at Nicky Hilton's Los Angeles home for a private memorial service on Tuesday (January 5th), which one source described as "beautiful." A family spokesperson said in a statement, "The family has arranged for Casey to be flown back east to her final resting place. There will be a private funeral service later this week for the immediate family." Johnson was found dead on January 4th, however the cause has been deferred pending toxicology reports.

The 2010 awards season got off to a quiet start with Wednesday (January 6th) night's People's Choice Awards. The fans chose predictable favorites like Sandra Bullock, Steve Carell and Keith Urban as winners in various movie, television and music categories while teen favorites -- and former lovebirds -- Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner each got some stage time.

Swift and Lautner, whose short-lived romance recently came to an end, were honored for favorite female artist and breakout movie actor, respectively. MUSE ASKED TO WRITE MUSIC FOR 'CLASH OF THE TITANS'

Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy told England's Daily Star that the band has been approached to write music for the soundtrack of the upcoming fantasy action film, Clash of The Titans. NICKELBACK FLESHES OUT SPRING TOUR

The music world was rocked on New Year's Day (January 1st) by the news -- posted at singer Chris Cornell's website and Twitter page, plus a new site called Soundgarden World -- that grunge gods Soundgarden would reportedly reunite in 2010 after a 12-year absence. But a closer look at what was posted actually says nothing of the kind, throwing doubt on what -- if anything -- the band really has in store.

The post reads, "The 12-year break is over and school is back in session. Sign up now. Knights of the Soundtable ride again!" But Knights of the Soundtable was the name of Soundgarden's fan club, and the message does not say explicitly that Soundgarden itself is returning -- although it is worded vaguely enough to hint at a possible reunion.

DETECTIVES RANSOM POT PLANTS: Investigators in Marathon, Fla. lured a man, suspected of growing marijuana plants, into turning himself into authorities. Investigators say they did this by leaving a ransom note in place of six seized plants. After reading a note that said ''Thanks for the grow! You want them back? Call for the price'', Steven Alan Locasio called the number on the note and offered $200 for the plants. Locasio was met by the police and arrested on drug charges. (AP)

POTATOES WITH CROSSES FOR SALE ONLINE: Online shoppers are now able to bid for potatoes that were found containing the likenesses of crosses in the center. One was found by a family in Iowa and the other found by an Ohio police detective. According to Jim Gross of Marion, Iowa, the potato was discovered on New Year's Eve while his wife was preparing dinner. The spud is on sale on eBay with bids starting at $2. Penn dropped out of the Farrelly brothers project several months ago in the wake of his divorce from Robin Wright Penn, however Bobby Farrelly said that the Oscar-winner reconsidered, and will in fact join Jim Carrey and Benicio Del Toro in the title roles. KEVIN BACON TO BE RECOGNIZED FOR CHARITY WORK: Kevin Bacon's philanthropic endeavors will be recognized at the Critics' Choice Movie Awards later this month. Reuters announced that the actor will receive the Joel Siegel Award from the Broadcast Film Critics Association, which honors an entertainer's charitable efforts. Bacon is being recognized for his website SixDegrees.org, which invites visitors to contribute to their favorite causes in a simple fashion. The site has attracted nearly $3 million in donations since its launch three years ago. The awards will be broadcast on VH1 on January 15th.

NBC ORDERS ADAM CAROLLA PILOT: NBC has ordered a new comedy pilot starring Adam Carolla. The Hollywood Reporter announced that the show, which Carolla co-wrote as well, features a contractor who has to rebuild his life post-divorce.

CHARLIE SHEEN'S WIFE REPORTEDLY WENT TO ALCOHOL REHAB WHILE PREGNANT

Charlie Sheen's wife Brooke Mueller reportedly went to rehab for alcohol abuse treatment while she was pregnant with the couple's twins. RadarOnline.com reports that Mueller -- who was drinking before the Christmas scuffle that landed her husband in jail -- went to rehab when she was approximately five months pregnant.

Sources told Radar that Mueller's treatment came after she was confronted with the discovery of bottles of booze in her car. One of the couple's twin sons was born with a heart problem and the insider told Radar that Charlie accused Brooke of causing the issue with her drinking.

BROADWAY OPENING SET FOR GREEN DAY'S 'AMERICAN IDIOT'

The stage musical version of Green Day's American Idiot album will open on Broadway at the St. James Theatre on April 20th, according to The New York Times. Preview performances will start on March 24th, with ticket information yet to be announced. The show premiered at the Berkeley Rep in northern California last September, where it enjoyed a sold-out eight-week run that broke all box office records for the theatre. Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong said in a statement, "Experiencing American Idiot onstage in Berkeley was incredible. (Director) Michael Mayer was able to bring life to the characters . . . and Tom Kitt's musical arrangements are breathtaking. We're so proud that the show is coming to Broadway!"

MUSE SMASHES ANOTHER CHART RECORD

Muse's current single, "Uprising," has smashed another rock radio airplay record, spending its 18th consecutive week at Number One on the Alternative Rock chart. That breaks the record for longest run at the top in the chart's history, which was previously held by Foo Fighters. That band's "The Pretender" logged 17 weeks in the Number One position back in late 2007.

COUNTDOWN CLOCK APPEARS AT DISTURBED WEBSITE

A countdown clock has surfaced at the official Disturbed website, with the clock apparently timed to end next Tuesday (January 12th). The letters "D.O.D." appear above the clock, which could possibly stand for "Decade of Disturbed." There's no indication of what will happen next week, but it seems likely that some sort of new release will be announced, most likely a retrospective DVD of the band's history that has been in the planning stages for a while.

Singer David Draiman told us during last spring's Music As A Weapon tour that the group planned to film some shows on that trek for just such a DVD: ["We already have a bunch of footage that's been amassed, and we're trying to do a full-blown production shoot of one or more of these actual live performances. Eyewitness News has learned that three Transportation Security Administration explosive detecting dogs at Philadelphia International Airport failed required re-certification testing.

A Los Angeles Superior Court spokesperson confirmed that the charge -- which stemmed from a paparazzo scuffle -- was dismissed at a Tuesday (January 5th) hearing after the actor completed community service. Prosecutors said that Butler had a "run-in" with a photographer back in October after leaving a premiere party, however the actor's manager contends he was "forced to have his driver stop the car after the photographer sped through red lights and almost struck two pedestrians."

CAUSE OF CASEY JOHNSON'S DEATH DEFERRED PENDING TOXICOLOGY REPORTS

An autopsy conducted Tuesday (January 5th) on Casey Johnson's body found no signs of trauma, but the cause of death has been deferred pending toxicology reports. TMZ.com reported on the findings, adding that law enforcement sources believe the Johnson & Johnson heiress was dead for several days before her body was discovered.

REDMOND O'NEAL ARRESTED FOR DRUGS AGAIN

Redmond O'Neal has again been arrested over drugs, meaning he'll be facing a lengthy prison sentence. RadarOnline.com reports that Farrah Fawcett's son had been clean for the past six months while in a treatment center, but slipped up during his first 24-hour pass out of the facility.

Radar reports that after returning to the treatment center on December 29th, staff noticed that he seemed "altered," and the 24-year-old was subsequently arrested on a drug violation.

People magazine reports that at a hearing on Tuesday (January 5th), Redmond was ordered into a 30-day jail rehab facility pending a February 2nd sentencing. Radar added that he's facing up to six years in prison because this latest arrest violates probation terms of a previous drug offense.

One of the men charged with killing a woman in her bed told police his only regret was that he didn't also succeed in killing her 11-year-old daughter, who was sleeping in the same room, according to police documents released Tuesday.

4-TON STATUE STOLEN FROM MOTORCYCLE SHOP: A 4-ton statue was stolen outside of a Harley-Davidson store in Lindon, Utah. Authorities say the thieves must have used heavy equipment in order to make off with such a heavy sculpture. The $100,000 sculpture depicted an old-time speed racer and was discovered missing by the store's employees. The store manager, Kandi Zamora says that the granite block on which the statue was mounted was also missing. (AP)

MOTHER FINDS A PARKING METER IN SON'S CLOSET: A 36-year old man from Jersey City Heights was arrested for stolen property after his mother found a city parking meter in his closet. Thomas Gaughran removed the meter from its Graham Street location about four months ago but was unable to remove the coins from inside of the machine. His mother discovered the meter while cleaning out his closet. This started an argument which led her to call the police. (NJ.com)

Godsmack frontman Sully Erna has reached a settlement with the victim of a car accident he was involved in, as well as her family, to the tune of millions of dollars. According to EagleTribune.com, Erna and Godsmack Touring, Inc. will have to make an immediate cash payment of $3.3 million that includes $1.8 million in legal fees, $1 million to the victim, $172,000 to her father and $72,000 to her mother, along with payments for medical bills and other associated costs.

Erna will also have to make a series of guaranteed monthly payments to the victim for the next 30 years, starting at nearly $5,000 a month for the next five years, escalating to more than $5,000 for 14 years after that, and rising again to almost $10,000 a month for the final 11 years. Her mother will also receive $710 a month for life.

Guitarist Josh Klinghoffer has reportedly confirmed that he is now a member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, weeks after rumors began circulating that he would join the band as the replacement for departed guitar player John Frusciante. According to Music Radar, Klinghoffer broke the news to the previous owner of his website that he had in fact become the new Chili Peppers guitarist. The Chili Peppers themselves have said nothing publicly about either Klinghoffer or Frusciante, who revealed last month at his own website that he had exited the group last year.

Rumors about Frusciante's continued involvement with the Peppers began to circulate last year. The Chili Peppers recently reconvened for the first time since late 2007 to begin work on their 10th studio album.
Frusciante left the band once before, in 1992, after the massive success of their 1991 breakthrough album, Blood Sugar Sex Magik. He got addicted to heroin at the time, but eventually kicked his habit and rejoined the group in 1999.

The family of late Avenged Sevenfold drummer Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan has issued a statement following Sullivan's death last week at the age of 28. The statement said, "We would like to thank all of Jimmy's fans for the heartfelt comments that have been posted -- it is comforting to know that his genius and antics were appreciated and that he was loved so much. Our hearts are broken -- he was much too young to fall."

The critics' awards are great for Hollywood egos, but not so great as predictors of Oscars. The movie is seen as too serious, and too little-seen, to be a serious contender for the top Academy Awards.

Grunge gods Soundgarden will officially reunite in 2010, according to a message posted at both singer Chris Cornell's website and soundgardenworld.com. The message reads, "The 12-year break is over and school is back in session. Sign up now. Knights of the Soundtable ride again!" Registration at soundgardenworld.com will allow fans to view a video of the band's 1989 single, "Get On The Snake," as well as a promise of future updates. No other information has been revealed at either site about recording or touring plans, although Billboard.com reports that the band is weighing offers from several U.S. and international festivals.

Kings Of Leon bassist Jared Followill told Spin magazine that he and the rest of the band are pretty sick of their Grammy-nominated hit, "Use Somebody," which helped propel their 2008 album Only By The Night to sales of more than a million copies. Followill said about the track, "Before it was on the radio every five seconds, I thought 'Use Somebody' was a good song, but it's hard to f***in' like it when you hear it 90 times a day."

"Use Somebody" was written by frontman Caleb Followill as an apology to his bandmates after a drunken fight. Caleb recalled, "The next day at soundcheck, no one was looking at each other in the eye. 30 ROCK'S GRIZZWALD CHAPMAN NEEDS KIDNEY TRANSPLANT

Actor Grizzwald "Grizz" Chapman, who plays a security man for Tracy Morgan on the NBC comedy 30 Rock, is suffering from kidney disease. The actor, who is 35, will talk about his struggles today (Tuesday) on The Dr. Oz Show. The 6-foot-11, 378-pound Chapman is receiving dialysis treatments three times a week for severe hypertension. He is on a five-year-long waiting list for a kidney transplant, but has to lose 75 pounds before he can be considered a candidate for the surgery.

Chapman admits that he ignored his high blood pressure for more than decade, and didn't even take medication for it.
Dr. Oz says of Chapman: "He's got a winning spirit, and if we follow his story carefully, everyone's going to learn a lot from it."

Nicole Richie has grown up and gone glam. The new and improved Nicole showed off brunette locks and an elegant gown at Costa Mesa's Bloomingdale's, where she was promoting her House of Harlow 1960 holiday jewelry collection over the weekend. As E! Online points out: "It seems like just yesterday she was wandering around everywhere looking like a hot mess."

The e!online site also features a "Most Improved" gallery of other stars who have gotten seriously glammed up, probably with the help of a whole team of professional stylists. The list includes Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba, Kate Winslet and Kim Kardashian.

It's so nice taking the baby to the zoo when it's not crowded. In fact, if you're Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, you get the zoo to just shut the whole place down so you can visit with your 3-year-old daughter. One day last week, the Hollywood couple took daughter Suri to the Guillena Mundo Park Zoo outside Seville, Spain. Tom is there to film Knight and Day with Cameron Diaz. Zoo officials closed the zoo to the public so the family could just have the place to themselves. Suri reportedly was very pleased. "She loved stroking a newborn tiger cub, twin baby jaguar cubs and a baby donkey, so small it looks like a ball of fluff," a zoo official told reporters.

If it succeeds, this is the movie that is expected to kick off the next big multi-part movie franchise: Robert Downey Jr. is starring in a new and very offbeat version of Sherlock Holmes, opening on Christmas Day. The movie, with Jude Law co-starring as Holmes' loyal sidekick Doctor Watson, is directed by Guy Ritchie, best known in America as Madonna's British ex-husband. Even if most movie-goers love it, you have to wonder how fans of Arthur Conan Doyle's great detective will react to this latest movie version. The Hollywood Reporter asked Downey if detective fiction fans will recognize his Sherlock Holmes. Downey replied: "Well, we got invited to the annual Baker Street Irregulars ball in New York, so I guess we haven't fallen too far from the tree." (For those who don't know, the Baker Street Irregulars are serious students of Holmes.)

Wells Fargo plans to sell $10.4 billion in new stock to help repay all $25 billion in bailout aid it received from the government at the height of the market meltdown last fall.
The announcement from the San Francisco-based bank comes hours after Citigroup said it would repay $20 billion worth of taxpayer funds.

The chief negotiator for the U.S. at the climate summit in Copenhagen says leaders have made some progress, but that it is not enough and time is running out to come up with deal that all countries can agree on.
The U.S. is considered the bogeyman at the climate convention of about 120 leaders, because like China, the U.S. will not agree to binding commitments.
Although Obama has agreed to cut CO2 emissions by four percent over 1990 level, China has only agreed to cut its rate of increase.

REPORT: GUITARIST LEAVES RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS

Guitarist John Frusciante has left the Red Hot Chili Peppers for the second time, according to a report at MusicRadar.com. A source told the website that guitar player Josh Klinghoffer has been rehearsing with the group for "a couple of months now," adding, "Mentally, John checked out a long time ago. He's interested in doing his own thing, his own albums -- the whole big rock band machinery just doesn't appeal to him anymore." Frusciante left the band once before, in 1992, after the massive success of their 1991 breakthrough album, Blood Sugar Sex Magik. He got addicted to heroin at the time, but eventually kicked his habit and rejoined the group in 1999.

Muse have unveiled 14 more dates for their upcoming 2010 North American tour, following the six shows initially announced last week. The trek now stretches from late February to mid-April, with general ticket sales beginning on Saturday (December 19th) and fan pre-sales going on all this week, starting Tuesday (December 15th) at 1:00 p.m. local time. This will be the British trio's first full-length jaunt here in support of its fifth album and biggest U.S. release, The Resistance.

Muse has always been known as a dynamic live act and bassist Chris Wolstenholme told us that he thinks their early albums went unnoticed in the U.S. because their label at the time didn't bring the band over to tour: ["I mean, for us at the time, we always knew that playing live was such a massive part of this band, and a big part of how we were gonna turn people onto the band, was to go out and play live, and the record company we were with at the time, I think they were kind of holding out for this kind of big radio hit that, you know, we kind of knew wasn't gonna happen. Green Day will follow the Beatles as only the second group to get their own special edition of the Rock Band video game franchise. The Green Day game will arrive for Xbox 360, PlayStation and Wii sometime in 2010, according to both a press release and an announcement made by the band at Spike TV's video game awards. Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong said in a statement, "We've worked with the Rock Band team in the past year to enable our fans to play tracks from 21st Century Breakdown, and we're excited to now be working on a game, spanning our entire career. White Stripes have a box set coming out on March 16th featuring the band's Canadian tour documentary The White Stripes: Under Great White Northern Lights. According to RollingStone.com, the collection will feature the movie, which debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, along with a DVD of a White Stripes 10th anniversary show, a 16-track live album on both vinyl and CD and a live 7-inch single of "Icky Thump" and "The Wheels On The Bus." Also included is a 208-page book and a silk screen print. Fans who pre-order the box set before January 1st at WhiteStripes.com will also get three bonus live MP3s, recorded at the 10th anniversary gig.

3 Doors Down recently held its annual benefit concert in Biloxi, Mississippi, and now that the numbers have started to come in, organizers tell AL.com that the event raised at least 200,000 for charity. Proceeds go to The Better Life Foundation, an organization founded by the band, which helps Gulf Coast nonprofits, particularly those that benefit children. The event featured a concert by 3 Doors Down and special guests, including Aaron Lewis of Staind, and a silent auction of music and sports memorabilia. More money could be coming in through an online auction at CharityBuzz.com that winds down December 21st. Some items are still up for grabs, including a VH1 cruise package and concert ticket packages that include meet-and-greets with acts such as Maroon 5, Paramore and Barenaked Ladies.

Video game company Activision has filed a countersuit against No Doubt, claiming that the band knew that Gwen Stefani's avatar would be able to be used with other artists in Band Hero. In November, No Doubt filed a lawsuit against Activision, saying the band was "mortified" after finding out the band members' avatars could be used to to perform tracks by any of the other acts in the game. But according to the Los Angeles Times, in the counterclaim, Activision says the the game's "unlockable avatars" were "publicly known," and the band should have been aware of them. The company also says No Doubt breached its contract by not taking part in promotion of Band Hero

Michigan has recently hosted many more film shoots, as they are offering tax credits to filmmakers, but the increased filming has also led to some mishaps. WOMAN ARRESTED ON DWI, STEALS AMBULANCE: An Oklahoma City woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated and brought to a hospital for a blood test when police say she stole an ambulance. Natalie Portman is the latest of many actresses to play Elizabeth Bennett in a film adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, but this one at least adds quite a plot twist. Portman signed on to produce and star in the movie version of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, the best-selling "expanded version" of the classic by Seth Grahame-Smith. His version adds a little action to Elizabeth's blossoming love affair with Mr. Darcy, in the form of a deadly virus that turns quiet English villagers into zombie killers.

Daniel Radcliffe may appear nude in Harry Potter And the Deathly Hallows, the next installment of the series about the boy wizard of Hogwarts. The movie's director, David Yates, tells the British newspaper The Telegraph: "There are a couple of scenes in the new film in which he will undress, but we're still thinking about how we present it."

If the Los Angeles Film Critics Awards provide any clues to the upcoming Academy Awards nominations, look for small independent movies and their stars to triumph. Breaking Benjamin is nearing the end of its 2009 tour, which stops in Chicago tonight (Monday, December 14th) and wraps later this week. Once the outing winds down, the group will take a break for the holidays. Breaking Benjamin frontman Ben Burnley expects to head home to Pennsylvania to spend time with family and friends. He's tells us why he still lives nearby where he grew up: ["Well it's my home, you know? It's my hometown. Like Pennsylvania in general, like central, northeastern Pennsylvania, I have roots in those areas. I have friends in this area, I have family in this area. I didn't get in a band to move to L.A. or New York. I got in a band because it's what I wanna do. So I don't see any reason to really leave my home state."]

Colplay will hold an "End of Decade Clearout Sale" to help raise money for the charity, Kids Company. Starting December 17th, the band will auction off a host of items on eBay, including everything from instruments and stage equipment, to costumes from the Vida La Viva tour, to signed platinum discs and more. The band explains on its website: "Over the past ten years we've accumulated a lot of guitars, keyboards, amps, posters, platinum discs and all sorts of nostalgia. All proceeds will go to Kids Company, an incredible charity that helps vulnerable children and young people in London. Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo was released from the hospital on Friday (December 11th) after being injured in a tour bus crash in upstate New York. Cuomo, who suffered a punctured lung, spent six days in the hospital. Updating fans at Weezer.com, the band's webmaster Karl 'Karlophone' Koch announced the news, noting: "The time has come for freedom! After walking with and without a cane and getting some good hematocrit blood test results on Thursday, Rivers was given the go ahead to be released from the hospital!" Authorities say they removed an explosive device from around a man's neck after a robbery attempt in Orange County.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office reports that someone tried robbing a check-cashing store Sunday morning. The suspect fled, but a second man was left behind with the device around his neck.
Deputies brought the man outside the store, removed the device and disabled it.
It was not clear whether the man was a customer or another suspect

JERSEY SHORE PULLS VIOLENT CLIP: MTV has decided to pull a scene in an upcoming episode of Jersey Shore that shows Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi getting punched in the face by a man at a nightclub. The network also removed a preview clip from YouTube, although the preview was shown previously on air. In a statement released Friday, MTV said: "What happened to "Snooki" was a crime and obviously extremely disturbing. After hearing from our viewers, further consulting with experts on the issue of violence, and seeing how the video footage has been taken out of context to not show the severity of this act or the resulting consequences, MTV has decided not to air "Snooki" being physically punched in next week's episode." The man was identified by The New York Post as New York gym teacher Lou Ferro. Ferro was arrested after the incident. The assault left Polizzi with an injury to her mouth. The network said the episode will still make clear what happened that night and will air a message at the end of the show listing available resources for those in abusive relationships

Friday night Scotty went to his wife's holiday party and continued his streak of not being able to talk to people with real jobs. It was a cash bar and Scotty was not a happy camper. Getting older sucks!

President Barack Obama is asking bank executives to support his efforts to tighten the financial industry, while bankers are prepared to tell the president he should stop oversimplifying their concerns if he wants good-faith collaboration.
An hourlong meeting between the president and the nation's top financial firms was shaping up to be a tense White House encounter on Monday, not least because of Obama's description of bankers on the eve of the talks as "fat cats."

Born in 1937, Albert L. Peter had never been charged with a single crime, until he stole $980 in quarters from Wildwood parking meters that he was supposed to be fixing.
Peter, 72, was sentenced to three years' probation and 90 days in jail Friday for the theft.
He was arrested in July after being seen placing two bank bags in his car. Peter had been working an $11-per-hour job as a seasonal city employee fixing broken meters at the time.

She is said to have hit one female patient with a pillow and "punted" another in the back to force her onto a bed.

The Strokes' 2001 debut album, This Is It, has been named the best album of the 2000s in a new poll sponsored by England's NME magazine. The magazine revealed its list of the Top 100 albums of the last decade, with the New York-based Strokes topping a list that includes multiple entries from the White Stripes, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Radiohead, Muse, Queens Of The Stone Age and others.

Rounding out the Top 10 were albums from the Libertines, Primal Scream, Arctic Monkeys, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, PJ Harvey, the Arcade Fire, the Streets, Interpol and Radiohead.
NME said its list was determined by "a panel of musicians, producers, writers and record label bosses."

A Guns N' Roses concert scheduled for December 13th in Seoul, Korea -- the band's first gig ever in that country -- could set a new record for ticket sales in that nation, according to JoongAng Daily. Promoters said that tickets for the show, which is scheduled for a venue called the Olympic Park Gymnasium, are selling briskly, with representative Yvette Moon proclaiming on Monday (November 16th), "Ticket sales have already broken records set by other successful concerts we organized earlier in the year, like the Lady Gaga show this August."

Weezer has bundled its three self-titled records -- 1994's "blue album," 2001's "green album" and 2008's "red album" -- into a single package at iTunes for the price of $19.99. ROBBER FEEDS CRYING BABY: The Indianapolis police department is still searching for two people they said robbed a house Friday morning. According to the cops, it appears the robbers took time out of robbing the house to warm up a bottle of milk for a crying baby. The two men said they needed jumper cables for their car, but forced their way inside and tied up the family. When the baby started to cry, the family asked the robbers if they could feed the baby, which they agreed to do. The crime occured in broad daylight on a busy street. (WISHTV.com)

WOMAN DIVORCES HUSBAND OVER SOAP OPERAS: An Indian woman has divorced her husband, because she said he would not allow her to watch soap operas. A local newspaper said the dispute lead to daily arguments over four years related to the popular shows. (AFP)

Aaron Eckhart and Molly Sims are a couple. The model/actress confirmed the relationship to Fox411, exclaiming, "Aaron's a great guy!" The two were first spotted dining together last week in Louisiana.

Sims also took the time to defend her former Las Vegas co-star Josh Duhamel against recent allegations that he cheated on wife Fergie. She said, "I went to the wedding and he's a great guy and he lives by example. Do not believe everything you read. He is a great man, a great husband and great friend. It's sad because you are talking about a human being and Fergie is a wonderful woman. He is nothing but a good person. [The rumors are] sad, and it's about money."

Rachelle Lefevre, who stars in Twilight and New Moon as evil vampire Victoria, was absent from the film's Monday (November 16th) night premiere because the experience would have been "too emotional" for her. The actress, whose role was recast in favor of Bryce Dallas Howard for the third franchise installment, tweeted about skipping the fete.

Lefevre wrote, "2 fans at the premiere: w/ Honey in hospital & being fired from Eclipse tonight was just 2 emotional 4 me & I couldn't manage it. So sorry." (Honey is the actress' dog.)

Although the production company behind the film credited scheduling conflicts for the recasting, Lefevre countered those claims, admitting that she was "stunned" by the decision.

Susan Boyle has revealed details of her difficult childhood. The singer, who shot to fame earlier this year on Britain's Got Talent, reportedly told the Daily Mirror that she was hit in school and bullied because of her learning disabilities.

Boyle, who was reportedly starved of oxygen at birth and has mild learning difficulties, is quoted as having said, "You're looking at someone who would get the belt every day. 'Will you shut up, Susan!? -- whack!"

Police were searching early Wednesday for two armed men at a T.J. Maxx clothing store in a southwest Florida shopping mall after they allegedly held eight employees hostage for at least 3 hours.
Seven of the eight hostages were freed after dozens of SWAT team members, backed by two helicopters, surrounded the store. The final hostage reportedly hid from the gunmen and was injured after being shoved to the ground by the attackers. SWAT members were seen dragging her out of the store on a blanket.

Tuesday (November 17th) marked one month since the disappearance of Metallica fan Morgan Harrington from outside the band's concert in Charlottesville, Virginia. The 20-year-old Virginia Tech student vanished after she accidentally left the venue and was unable to get back in. Although she called her friends inside and said she'd either wait for them or find her own way home, Harrington was not seen again. Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo told us how he felt when he first heard about the situation: ["I mean, I was crushed. Stuff like this just really, really bums me out, especially when you are a parent and you have children. I mean, it's the worst thing that you could ever imagine. And of course, you know, we're all hoping for the best and just praying that she's alive. It really hit a sour chord with us and bummed us out."]

More details have emerged on the upcoming fourth studio album from My Chemical Romance, which is due for release in the spring of 2010. According to RollingStone.com, some members of the group are amazed that the record exists at all. Guitarist Frank Iero said that the band was so exhausted after touring behind its 2006 effort, The Black Parade, that "I thought the band was going to break up."

But the band rallied and began working almost a year ago with producer Brendan O'Brien, best known for his work with Pearl Jam and Bruce Springsteen. For the band's first album without a concept behind it, singer Gerard Way said they wanted to "harness everything that's great about this band into shorter songs. Almost protopunk, like the Stooges or the MC5."

Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins might be collaborating with Queen drummer Roger Taylor if Taylor gets his wish. Taylor called Hawkins "one of my best blood brothers," telling BBC 6 Music, "I've been thinking about doing a tour next year -- a very quick tour -- with Taylor Hawkins from the Foo Fighters . . . So we might do that. That sounds like fun." Hawkins and Taylor, along with Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, played an all-star drum jam together at Live Earth in 2007, while Hawkins has also played on Queen guitarist Brian May's solo track "Cyborg" and also sat behind the kit at the 2006 VH1 Rock Honors for Queen's "We Will Rock You."

Anthony Michael Hall's ex-girlfriend has obtained a temporary restraining order against the Breakfast Club star. The New York Post reports that Hall has been ordered to stay away from his Diana Falzone after he allegedly stalked her and attacked her in her New York apartment. The 41-year-old, who suffers from bipolar disorder, allegedly tried to kick down her door during an early-hours visit and bashed her head against the wall when she finally let him in. A spokesman for Hall said he was not aware of the temporary restraining order, but insisted, "All of the allegations are erroneous and will be addressed accordingly."

A judge has granted a civil restraining order against a man accused of stalking Ryan Seacrest. The Associated Press reports that the order, which was issued on Tuesday (November 17th), requires Chidi Benjamin Uzomah Jr. to stay 100 yards away from Seacrest. Uzomah is currently in jail, where he was taken after his arrest last month outside of E! on felony stalking charges.

MTV has secured the TV rights to the Michael Jackson movie, This Is It. Variety reports that the deal will make the film available to MTV and its sibling nets in 2011 for a six-year window.

Bob Saget will star in a new reality series on A&E. The Hollywood Reporter announced that Bob Saget's Strange Days will feature the actor immersing himself in cultures such as the world of mail-order brides and joining a survivalist cult prepping for the end of the world to rushing at a fraternity.

Samuel Levin, the man Nicolas Cage claims is responsible for his financial ruin, has countersued the actor, alleging that his money situation was out of control before Levin stepped into the picture. TMZ.com reports that in the countersuit, Levin says that by the time he was hired in 2001, "Coppola [Cage] had already squandered tens of millions of dollars . . . and owed millions of dollars in... income taxes, with no funds available to pay the tax debt."

Levin allegedly told Cage at the time that he needed an annual income of $30 million to maintain his lavish lifestyle, which included house, art, jewelry and car-buying sprees.
